As a result of poor dietary and exercise habits during the pandemic, many people are looking to improve their skin health. Among ingredients in products that address the issue, collagen is the rising star. Unsurprisingly, Abyss Ingredients recently decided to conduct a consumer study, evaluating their collagen ingredient – Cartidyss®’s – effect on hair, nails, and skin.
Cartidyss®
Cartidyss® contains hydrolyzed marine collagen from fish cartilage for joint health and skin support with a synergetic action of its components. It is clinically proven to significantly reduce joint pain and improve skin density. The latter has visible effects on the skin, making it plump and visibly reducing wrinkles. In a study on a human chondrocytes model, Cartidyss® metabolites also significantly reduced the negative effects induced by inflammatory stress, which suggests the preservation of joint mobility.
Consumer study
The study included 75 women aged 25 to 50 years willing to improve their hair, nails, and skin beauty. The participants took supplementation for 3 months and were asked to fill out a monthly online questionnaire.
The results show a significant improvement in participants’ satisfaction with hair and nails after the first month of supplementation. The study observes Cartidyss®’s peak performance at 2 months of supplementation.
After 3 months of supplementation, around 94% of participants had a positive opinion of Cartidyss® and 4 out of 5 participants were satisfied. About 70% of participants said they would recommend the ingredient at the end of the study.
Claims confirmed in the study:
- After 30 days of Cartidyss® supplementation, hair is brighter, less dry, and less brittle.
- Cartidyss® reduces hair loss in 30 days of supplementation.
- After 30 days of Cartidyss® supplementation, nails are stronger and less brittle.
- Cartidyss® improves complexion in the first month of supplementation.
- After 60 days of Cartidyss® supplementation, hair grows quicker.
- After 60 days of Cartidyss® supplementation, the skin is less dry.
- After 60 days of Cartidyss® supplementation, nails are brighter, grow quicker, and duplicate less.
- After 90 days of Cartidyss® supplementation, split ends are reduced.
